Join the 2024 KGW Great Food Drive

Thank you to everyone who supported the KGW Great Food Drive this year. Together, we raised funds and donations to provide over 2.5 million meals! That's more than double the original 1.2 million meals goal! During the month, Rivermark staff participated in numerous volunteering events and our branches partnered with local food pantries for physical donations. Rivermark branches collected more than 1,100lbs pounds of food donations to support our neighbors! Note: The Oregon Food Bank accepts donations to help our communities year-round. Rivermark also made a significant contribution to the Oregon Food Bank, donating an additional $250,000, which translates to over 760,000 meals, thanks to grants received from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.

For the past 8 years, Rivermark has been a proud sponsor of the KGW Great Food Drive in March. During this time, more than 14 million pounds of food have been donated. Last year alone, we raised funds and donations to provide over 2.2 million meals!

Access to a consistent food source is a huge problem here in Oregon and SW Washington. More than 1 in 10 people face hunger regularly, 1 in 8 Oregon children qualify for free and reduced lunch at school, and a disproportionate number of people in minority groups are affected by food insecurity. While the Oregon Food Bank Network is a vital piece in solving our food insecurity crisis, they can’t do it alone. As food sourcing and distribution costs have spiked 10% to 30%, the need for continued support is more vital than ever.

For every $10 donated, 30 meals are provided to our community members!

While Rivermark has partnered with KGW for the Great Food Drive the past 8 years, we aren’t the only sponsors. Toyota, Safeway, and Pacific Office Automation are also key partners in making this drive as successful as it can be and to support as many community members as possible.
