How Does It Work?

HSA Checking Account Requirements
To qualify for an HSA Checking Account, you must be enrolled in a high deductible health plan (HDHP). For calendar year 2025, a "high deductible health plan" is defined under § 223(c)(2)(A) as a health plan with an annual deductible that is not less than $1650 for self-only coverage or $3,000 for family coverage, and the annual out-of-pocket expenses (deductibles, co-payments, and other amounts, but not premiums) do not exceed $8,300 for self-only coverage or $16,600 for family coverage.

Use Funds For Qualified Medical Expenses
Your HSA Checking Account can be used to pay for any qualified medical expense, including:
- Health insurance premiums when you’re between jobs
- Qualified long-term care premiums
- Medicare premiums and out-of-pocket expenses
- Living expenses after age 65 (pay ordinary income taxes)
- And more!
