2023 Grant Recipient
Rivermark Community Fund Grants $25,000 to Community Roots Collaborative
We're excited to share some fantastic news! The Rivermark Community Fund has decided to donate its 2023 grant of $25,000, which is an increase of $5,000 from previous years, to the Community Roots Collaborative (C-Roots). C-Roots is an incredible non-profit organization that focuses on creating stable and affordable housing, aiming to empower residents to break the cycle of homelessness and regain their independence.
Our donation will specifically support the development of the kitchen and communal area in C-Roots' new O-street complex of tiny homes. This project aligns perfectly with our mission to aid in the creation of affordable housing solutions, making it an ideal partnership for us.
Our President/CEO, Seth Schaefer, expressed his enthusiasm about our continued partnership with C-Roots, saying, "This is our second grant to C-Roots and we look forward to continuing our partnership, as their mission aligns with our values. Not only does C-Roots directly support our Funds’ mission to affordable housing, but their wrap-around service vision addresses the underlying issues around housing."
Echoing our sentiment, Dan Whiteley, the President of C-Roots, shared, “Our second project at 3600 O Street in Vancouver embodies our core values of compassion and social responsibility. We are dedicated to ensuring that every individual who walks through our doors receives not only a roof over their heads but also access to job training, mental health treatment, drug/alcohol counseling, and financial literacy training. Rivermark’s belief in our mission and willingness to invest in the well-being of our community’s most vulnerable members is inspiring. We are committed to making every dollar of this generous gift count and to keeping you informed of our progress along the way. Our team is excited to embark on this important journey, knowing that it would not have been possible without Rivermark’s support.”
