The 2025 KGW Great Food Drive has officially wrapped up, and we are proud to share the incredible impact made possible by the unwavering generosity of our community. In partnership with KGW, Toyota, Safeway, Pacific Office Automation, and many other dedicated supporters, Rivermark helped provide over 1.2 million meals to local families experiencing food insecurity.
Each year, this campaign brings out the best in our community, and 2025 was no exception. From monetary donations to nonperishable food collection, every contribution helped make a difference.
Rivermark’s Role in the Fight Against Hunger
Rivermark has been a proud partner of the KGW Great Food Drive for nine years running. This year, with the support of our members and staff, we collected $1,030 in cash donations, as well as 1,272.5 pounds of nonperishable food, all of which went directly to support local food pantries in the areas we serve. Our food donations were distributed to three local organizations:
- NCSD Wichita Center and Bethel Congregation – 1136.5 lbs (Portland area branches)
- Columbia Gorge Food Bank – 136 lbs (The Dalles branch)
Thanks to these combined efforts, we were able to ensure our impact reached communities across the region—from the Portland metro area to the Columbia Gorge.
Why This Work Matters
Hunger continues to affect thousands of families throughout Oregon. Today, 1 in 8 Oregonians face food insecurity—including children, seniors, and working families. Nearly 1 in 6 children in Oregon qualify for free or reduced-cost lunch, highlighting the urgent need for continued support. With the cost of living continuing to rise, as many as 1.9 million people are expected to seek help from the Oregon Food Bank Network in 2025. The food and funds collected through the KGW Great Food Drive are distributed through a vital network of food banks across Oregon and Southwest Washington.
