Debit Card Courtesy Pay*

If you have Courtesy Pay, you can sign up to add ATM withdrawals and one-time debits  (such as grocery store purchases) to your coverage. Not available with Access Checking.

  • Helps avoid debit card declines due to non-sufficient funds

  • Same $20 fee and limits as Courtesy Pay

  • You may opt out of Debit Card Courtesy Pay at any time

*A fee may be charged for paid overdrafts created by check, debit card withdrawals, ATM, or other electronic means. We reserve the right not to pay NSF items, even if we’ve paid them before, e.g., we typically do not pay overdrafts on accounts not in good standing, without regular deposits, or with too many overdrafts. We reserve the right to require immediate repayment of an overdraft. NSF or overdraft fees are limited to a maximum of six (6) fees per day per account. No overdraft fee is charged for transactions that overdraw the account by less than $6. To be eligible for Courtesy Pay or Debit/ATM Courtesy Pay, accounts must be in good standing and open for 30 days. Courtesy Pay is not available for minors under age 18 or for Access Checking, Start Checking, or HSA Checking.

What You Need to Know About Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees

An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway. Your available balance may be lower than your actual balance due to funds held for debit card transactions you have authorized, pending ACH or direct deposits not yet available for withdrawal, and deposited checks held according to our funds availability policy.

We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:

  • We have standard overdraft practices (our Courtesy Pay program) that come with eligible accounts once you establish an overdraft protection plan (Overdraft Transfer).

  • We also offer overdraft protection plans (Overdraft Transfer) that transfer funds from a savings, credit card, or line of credit account, which may be less expensive than our standard overdraft practices. To learn more, ask us about these plans.

This notice explains our standard overdraft practices (Courtesy Pay) and the optional Debit Card Courtesy Pay service.
